Coastal Journey
3/13/2026
Ma’am,
You will already know the party departed Wilmette and began the northbound passage toward the interior river.
Five days north along the coast followed.
The first day revealed a sunken ore barge drifting in the current. Salvage was recovered.
The second day brought a colony of blue river birds defending cliff nests. The ship altered course. No engagement.
On the third day we passed a dwarven ore transport from the Blackvein Mine. The crew confirmed a settlement near the northern deposits.
On the fourth day exposed Lythic Stone was observed along the shoreline.
Rooter reached the stone first. A burrowing monitor emerged and attacked.
He lifted the creature into the air and struck repeatedly, reducing it significantly before it could regain position.
The wizard followed with a concentrated missile barrage.
Two others attempted to close the distance across the rocks but did not reach the fight before it concluded.
Collette opened the distance with a dimensional breach. We engaged from the shore.
Her spell disrupted the creature’s retreat. My strike left it nearly dead. The creature attempted to burrow and triggered the spell’s effect. It did not survive.
We returned to the vessel.
The remaining travel passed without incident.
Two days were spent in the fishing village of Driftmouth. The party resolved several local disturbances. A river eel mutating around Lythic Stone was removed. The lighthouse was repaired after its keeper was found dead. Another burrowing monitor was destroyed.
Supplies were provided. Harbor fees were waived.
We now travel inland toward Khuldar’s Reach and the Blackvein Mine.
They remain effective under pressure.
Collette is safe. I remain at her side.
Forever watchful, Arietta
